Patient Presentation and Clinical History

A 43 year old male was referred to me for homeopathic consultation presenting with extensive, debilitating psoriasis. The physical manifestations were severe, characterized by thick, inflamed, and elevated red lesions (plaques) distributed across the hands, arms, torso, abdomen, and the pretibial (shin) areas extending toward the thighs. Notable lesions were also present in the post-auricular region.

Upon entering the clinic, the patient’s distress was palpable. He immediately displayed his hands, which were heavily involved with large, active lesions, expressing significant psychological burden. Despite the severity of the cutaneous symptoms, the patient reported no other systemic physical complaints, stating emphatically in Hindi, "Bas yeh hi barhti ja rahi hai" (Only this is continuing to increase).

The patient’s case was deeply intertwined with his socioeconomic status and future security. Currently working in Canada on a work permit, he lacks permanent residency status and a designated family doctor. This instability has created a profound sense of "stuckness" and worry.

When questioned about the onset, the patient exhibited hesitation, a common trait in cases where the pathology is linked to long-term, subconscious stress estimating a duration of one to two years. His primary concerns were twofold:

The Physical Decay: "Body kharaab ho gayi, hor kharab ho jayegi" (The body has become ruined, and it will get worse).

Social and Aesthetic Stigma: He expressed deep shame regarding the "hygiene" and appearance of his skin, viewing the pathology as a barrier to his integration and well-being.

Diagnostic Assessment and Prescription

The clinical picture was defined by thick, red, rapidly spreading lesions coupled with intense anxiety regarding health and "status" (both legal and physical). In homeopathy, the selection of a remedy relies on the totality of symptoms melding the physical pathology with the patient’s mental state.

The patient’s fixation on the "ruined" state of his body and the anxiety regarding his unsettled life in a foreign land pointed toward a deep-acting constitutional remedy.

Prescription:

  • Remedy: [Confidential/Selected Single Remedy]

  • Potency: 30C

  • Dosage: A single dose administered at the initial visit.

  • Follow-up Schedule: 15 days.

Progress and Clinical Outcomes

The recovery followed Hering’s Law of Cure, moving from the internal psychological state to the external physical manifestations.

  • First Follow-up (15 Days): The patient reported the commencement of healing. The psoriatic patches on the lower extremities (legs) began to clear first, with the underlying healthy skin pigmentation becoming visible for the first time in years.

  • Final Assessment (6 Weeks): Within one and a half months of the single-dose intervention, the psoriasis had achieved total clearance. Clinical photographs confirmed that the thick, red plaques had resolved entirely, restoring the skin to its natural texture and color.
